So, here I am. Day 1 of my wonderful "mommy blog." I've been wanting to start one for so long, but the desire finally overtook me. I am stoked to share my exciting stories of being a mother to two beautiful children, and of being a full-time student on the road to future success in this wonderful economy. (Note: that's definitely sarcasm) If there are people out there that wish to follow my blog, I say the more the merrier. If not, oh well. It's just nice to be able to have an outlet for my emotional journey through this life. So, here's a little background about me and my family:
First, my name is Kristina and I am 26 years old, and I am currently a stay-at-home mother to Chase, who is 10 months old, and to Haylie, who is 3 years old. Once the kiddos are off to sleep, I am a full-time student on the computer majoring in Business Administration with concentration in Human Resource Management. I am set to graduate with my Bachelor's Degree in May of 2012. I recently received an Honorable Discharge from the United States Air Force back in July of 2011, so I am utilizing my very well earned G.I. Bill to finish up my educational aspirations.
I have been married to my husband, Bob, for going on 4 years this July. We have had our ups and downs, but I can't see myself spending this life with anyone else in the world. He is definitely the rock of our family, and the breadwinner. He works for the Department of Homeland Security as an Explosives Specialist. I love saying that. :) It sounds so important, and it is so important. He is an amazingly caring and loving guy, and an excellent father to our kiddos. Okay, okay...enough about him.
We live in the exciting land of New Jersey. I swear that people who were born and raised here believe that New Jersey is it's own country. However, living here for 4 years, you get used to the way things are. It's nice to not have to pump your own gas, especially when the weather is quite crappy. My one and only complaint is the property tax. My goodness! I feel violated by the amount of property tax we have to pay each year. It's absolutely ridiculous. But, it's nice to live within driving distance of the beach, slopes, mountains, and even NYC. Can't beat the touristy places you are so close to around here. I grew up in the exciting state of Arkansas, and YES, I did wear shoes. It's completely different on the east coast than back in Arkansas in the midwest. Not in a good or bad way, just different.
Well, enough about me and my family. I look forward to sharing my stories, and to hopefully getting something out of this whole blog thing. I love to write, and I love to share things that could hopefully make someone laugh or change someone's thinking. I'm extremely open-minded, and always up for trying new things.
